A Word From The Lord September 2, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — thevein @ 8:22 am

My Child…..

I have wiped every tear you have cried.  When you cried out to me I did not turn a deaf ear, but I have heard every cry, every plea, every heartache.  I will mend every broken piece and make you whole and complete in me.  I will make every hurt and wound seem as if it never existed.  I am wrapping my arms around you right now.  Fall into my arms and let me heal every wound and pain.  I am the only one who can mend the brokenhearted and set the captive free.  I am the Lord.  I am your Lord.  I am Abba Father and you are my child.  I will mend your heart and make you whole if you allow me access to your wounded places.

My Lord….. August 29, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — thevein @ 3:36 am

I cried out with a loud voice and my Lord heard my plea….

I whispered in a still small voice and my Lord was waiting to hear from me….

I purged my heart of all its anguish and my Lord was faithful to meet me in this place where most men flee….

I wrestled with all my fears and my Lord brought me through victoriously……

I hid under the shadow of my Lord and He preserved my weary bones….

I recaptured strength that I thought was lost because my Lord restored my soul…..

My prayer for you today is that you will rely on the Lord for your every need. The Lord is the only one who can restore and refresh your weary bones and soul. Let Him be who he is……God.

Redirecting Traffic August 2, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — thevein @ 2:39 pm

Have you ever felt like you had a traffic cop in you head redirecting your thoughts?  I recently had a visual in my mind of a traffic cop in a black uniform, bright orange vest, white gloves, and a whistle.  He was pointing at me with one hand and pointing to the detour with the other, blowing that stupid whistle.  I actually became a little perturbed because I wanted to go down the road my thoughts were taking me.  I wanted to think bad thoughts about a situation that I was upset about!!!!!!!  Then I realized the traffic cop was only a symbol. God was redirecting my thoughts to a destination I did not want to go.  I was ready to just have a field day with my thoughts….just let them go wild and run free.  I wanted to let my imagination take me places that I knew I shouldn’t go.  I wanted to bust through the caution tape and knock over the orange cones and let it rip!!!!!!!!  Thank you God for showing me a better way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I decided to go down the road with the detour and I’m so glad I did.  This detour saved me from having to repent to God later.  Not to mention it felt good not thinking bad thoughts and just letting God handle it.  God directed me to a passage in scripture.  Philippians 4:6-9 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.   And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. WOW!!!  Paul knew what he was talking about.  Thinking on those things made all the difference in the world to me.  It made me see that I can and should go to God about all situations that arise and He will handle everything.  My job is 1) in all things come to God humbly in prayer, 2) giving Him praise and thanksgiving, 3) with a correct attitude, and  4) let Him know my requests.  In turn, God will give us peace about the situation at hand.  Not only peace for a moment, but He will keep our hearts and minds at peace continuously.   This is where redirecting our thoughts comes into play.  In order for God to keep our hearts and minds at peace we need to do what the next verse says, “think on whatsoever is true, just, pure, lovely, of good report.  God points us in the right direction, but we have to actually go down the road!!!  We have a will of our own and God will not override our will.  We can go down the road the is full of potholes, glass, nails, and who knows what else or we can go down the road that is smooth and free of any debris.  Do you have a traffic cop in your head today?  If so, listen to Him, He knows what is best for you.

The Designated Problem August 1, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — thevein @ 12:48 am

Who is the designated problem? If it is anyone other than the enemy of our souls, Lucifer then we need to reevaluate our thinking and motives on the subject. He is referred to as Lucifer, Satan, the enemy, the devil, accuser, deceiver, destroyer, devourer, tempter, father of all lies, shall I go on? When we evaluate the above descriptions we can see the character of Lucifer is not something to be emulated.

From the time in the garden until present day, Lucifer has been driving a wedge between God and man, man and woman, and humanity with themselves. We have to stop him in his tracks. We have the power and authority to do so. The wedge is extremely deceiving because we think we see who the problem is in a situation, but in reality it is always the same individual causing the problems……Lucifer. He is the father of all lies, we allow him to put thoughts into our heads and then we allow our flesh to run with it. Rather, we should have the Word written on the tablets of our hearts so it can penetrate our thinking so Lucifer will not get a foothold into our lives.

It sounds so easy, but it takes a lot of work. Lucifer and our flesh are really good friends. Lucifer is like one of those friends that gets you involved in some mess and then leaves you to pick up the pieces while he sneaks out the back door…..ever had one of those friends? We need to divorce ourselves from Lucifer! No ands, ifs, or buts about it just make a clean break. Throw all of his stuff out the door and don’t look back. And I mean all his stuff…. strife, jealousy, envy, gossip, backbiting, pride, lies, cheating, adultery, anger, pornography, fear, worry, anxiety, hopelessness, unworthiness, and the list goes on. Lucifer is the criminal here, but our flesh is an accomplice. Our flesh is not so easy to get rid of, but we can overcome our flesh with the power of the Holy Spirit. Our flesh is an interesting component of who we are, but it is not the sum total of who we are. Lucifer would like for us to think this is all we are and ever will be, but remember he is the father of all lies.

Let us always remember who the designated problem is in any situation….Lucifer, the one who wants to separate us from God, others and ourselves. Don’t let him have a foothold in your life. We have too much to do for the kingdom of God to be messing with Lucifer and his group of fallen angels. Let us be about our Father’s business. People are hurting and they need what we have….a relationship with Jesus. We need to be about our Father’s business which is love, peace, goodness, gentleness, joy, longsuffering, meekness, faith, and temperance. Come on saints…time is short…..we still have work to do in the kingdom…..let’s refocus and get back to the task at hand……helping reconcile the lost to their creator.

Pleasures August 1, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — thevein @ 12:48 am
There are many pleasures in this life, some good and some not so good. God wants us to enjoy our lives. Let us remember not to waste our time and resources on pleasures that take us away from serving God and helping others. We can serve God in many ways….being kind to someone, smiling at someone we see in public, be creative and unique in your pleasure seeking…..you might me surprised at how the simple things can bless God, you and others all at the same time.

Spiritual Core Muscles August 1, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — thevein @ 12:47 am

Core: the central, innermost, or most essential part of anything. We always hear that it is important to have strong core muscles when it comes to our physical bodies. There is much truth in this concept, but I would like to speak about our “spiritual core muscles” for a moment.

If you are like me, I hate working my core, because it is the hardest area to see results. I can workout for a few days and I can see the difference in my legs, arms, and even my face, but my core is another story. I have to workout for months before I can see any real significant change in that particular area. This is the same when it comes to our “spiritual core muscles.”

It takes time to develop strength in the innermost part of our being. This is the place where no one else can see but God; and sometimes, if we allow ourselves to be honest, we take a peek just to see what’s going on in there. This innermost place is where we store our motives and intents. Motive is applied mainly to an inner urge that moves or prompts a person to action. Intent is something that is intended, purposed, or designed. God looks at what others cannot see. Hebrews 4:12-13 states, “For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” Psalm 90:8 states, “Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.” We are not able to cover up our lack of “spiritual core muscles” with God. In the natural, we may be able to cover and conceal, but this is impossible with God.

God does not want us to fear our motives and intents. He wants us to be honest with Him and ourselves about our motives and intents so we can get out of the way that others might see Him in us. We are all ministers of reconciliation. II Corinthians 5:20, “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ….” We have been sent by God into this world as His mouthpiece, but God wants our motives and intents to be godly and pure. To do this, we need to spiritually get to the underlying muscles. In the natural, it takes aerobic activity to burn abdominal fat, and at the same time we should be doing toning and strengthening exercises for our underlying core muscles. This concept is the same spiritually. It takes aerobic activity to burn “spiritual” abdominal fat and in the process we should be doing toning and strengthening exercises to make our “spiritual core muscles” (aka: underlying core muscles) strong so we can have spiritual balance and stability.

Aerobic means requiring the presence of air or free oxygen for life. We need oxygen to burn “spiritual” abdominal fat. Jesus states in John 14:6,…”I am the way, the truth, and the life…”. John 1:1 states, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. We need oxygen to live a pure and healthy spiritual life. Jesus is that oxygen. A relationship with Jesus gives us the oxygen to get rid of “spiritual” abdominal fat and the Scriptures help us tone and strengthen our underlying spiritual muscles so we have a firm foundation to land on when we get knocked down or we stumble and fall.

Unfortunately, some of us are living anaerobic lives. Anaerobic means living in the absence of air or free oxygen. The key word in this definition is “free.” Jesus did something wonderful for us…he paid a debt that we could never pay off. It would be like paying on a credit card balance and never seeing the balance decrease. Most of can relate to this analogy (and know the frustration related to it). When we don’t realize the significance of a relationship with Jesus and pursue such a relationship with Him we are slowly killing ourselves spiritually by depriving ourselves of oxygen. Just like when Jesus spoke with the woman at the well, he said, “If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would gave given thee living water.” (John 4:10). It doesn’t matter what your past motives and intents may have been because today Jesus is saying, “I have living water for you to drink and if you drink it you will never thirst again.”

It is time to exercise our “spiritual core muscles.” Let us decide today that we are going to have a deeper relationship with Jesus and the Scriptures. When we draw nigh to God, He will draw nigh to us. He is waiting to help us start a new “training program” where we can have strength, balance and stability. He is waiting to help us dig deep and get to our “spiritual core muscles” where our motives and intents live. John 1:9 states, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us form all unrighteousness.” He is a loving God that wants a closer relationship with us. Please do not put Him off today…..He loves and misses you.

Hiding In God or Hiding Out From God? August 1, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — thevein @ 12:45 am
God’s word is alive, you see! It’s powerful, and it’s sharper than any double-edged sword. It can pierce right in between soul and spirit, or joints and marrow; it can go straight to the point of what the human heart is thinking, or intends to do. No creature remains hidden before God. All are naked, laid bare before the eyes of the one to whom we must present an account. Hebrews 4:12-13

Yesterday God spoke to me about how He is our hiding place, but this morning He said there is nowhere we can hide from Him. He said this in a loving and caring way, the way a parent would speak to their child when the child is trying to keep a secret from them. There are no secrets from God. He knows all things, even the things we dare not speak from our lips. God is our hiding place, but He is not our hideout.

There are times when we would rather hideout from God than hide in God. Saints, there is no hiding out from God. He is here to help us through this life and prepare us for eternal life with Him. Sometimes we think if we don’t spend time with God then we won’t have to face what is really in our heart, but God is saying, come now, and let us reason together….though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red as crimson, they shall be as wool. Isa 1:18.

Let us be faithful in our relationship with God. Let us dig into the Word of God, so He can expose to us what is in our hearts and the Word can pierce through what is really going on in us. So the secret thoughts, plans and intends of hearts can be revealed to God and He can cleanse us and make us whole. Let the Word do what it does best……bring us closer to God. I pray this word helps heal your spirit today. God is not mad at us…..He misses us. Please spend time with Him today…..you will find He has been waiting for you.

God Knows August 1, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — thevein @ 12:41 am
As I woke up this morning, these two words were being softly whispered in my spirit. I believe these words were for more than just my hearing. I pray this comforts you and assures you that God knows everything that is going on in your life…even the things you dare not utter from you lips.

GOD KNOWS…..

when you woke up this morning you may have had a praise on your lips, but sorrow was in your heart…..God says, “this to shall pass.”

when you woke up this morning you were not sure you had the grace for what you needed to accomplish today, but God says, ” my grace is sufficient for you.”

when you woke up this morning you were afraid that you would make the same decisions and end up with the same results, but God says, “I will make all things new.”

when you woke up this morning you thought nobody even loves me, but God says, “I love you with an undying love.”

when you woke up this morning God was waiting for you so He could tell you these things Himself…….
